From owners to concerned citizens, anyone can help a horse retire to Pastured Place.
Whether a horse raced two years ago, twenty years ago, or never, if a Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred needs us, we want to know. We maintain a watchlist and welcome submissions from the public. Here are some examples of horses that qualify for inclusion on our watchlist:
Many variables are considered when we make the decision to admit a horse on our watchlist. While we would love to help every horse, it sadly isn't possible. Space and resources are limited, and the list is simply too long. Additionally, as we stand behind every horse adopted from us, some space must be kept free in the event a horse is returned.
A successful submission to our watchlist does not represent or guarantee admittance. Watchlist horses will be admitted on a case by case basis with priority given to those at imminent risk of injury or death. Tracking these horses is a full-time job on its own, and we appreciate your patience as we make every effort to accommodate as many horses as possible.
Is your horse near the end of its racing days? Do you think Pastured Place might be a good fit?
We invite connections to consider us when the time comes to retire their horses.
Policies for connection submissions are the same as those for the general public, and the horse will be placed on our watchlist if no space is currently available.
*Upon admittance, transportation to our location is the responsibility of the connections.*
