Watchlist Submissions
Whether a horse raced two years ago, twenty years ago, or never, if a Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred needs us, we want to know. We maintain a watchlist and welcome submissions from the public. Here are some examples of horses that qualify for inclusion on our watchlist:
- Horses who have finished poorly in five or more consecutive starts
- Horses with known injuries and ailments, including surgical cases
- Horses at risk of shipping to or who have shipped to a livestock auction
- Horses retired from breeding, both stallions and mares
We consider many variables before admitting a horse on the watchlist, not least of which is whether the horse is adoptable or in need of lifetime care. Additionally, space and resources are always limited, and we must always be available to accept the return of an adopted horse.
